Charles Rainwater

Charlie was involved in bowling for many years. He was on the Wichita Bowling Association for 36 years, where he served as President and as a Director. on the Southwest Bowling Association, he service as Vice President and Director for 1 years. the Kansas State Bowling Association had the opportunity of service for 23 years as a Director , and a bowling council representative for two years. The committees he served are far too many to mention. He was elected into the Wichita Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 192!

Charlie had a high game of 298 (2) and high series of 793. He posted a high average of 207 which earned him 31 career 700 series. he had seven Wichita Bowling Association City Tournament team championships, the Kansas State Bowling Association state tournament team championships and two Southwest Bowling Association tournament team championships. Charlie competed in 30 ABC National Tournaments. Charlie was involved in bowling on the Local, State and National level, he was a tournament director for the Shrine Bowling Tournament, for 9 seasons, as well as serving as President. Charlie devoted most of his life to the game of bowling and was always willing to help any bowler anywhere anytime.

Robert Glass

Robert's performance on the lanes have earned him the KSBA Hall of Fame induction. He has 26 total 300 games, 13while competing on the PBA tour and 13 sanctioned in leagues, while an ABC member. He has five PBA titles: 1980-Bloomington, IL, 1988-Alburquerque, NM, 1989-Euless, TX, 1990-Cedare Rapids, IA and Elkhorn, NE. He also had 12 runner up finishes in PBA national and regional events. Robert has four-800 series, with the high being 836 in 1978 and a high average of 233 during the 1987-88 bowling season the Royal Crest Lanes in Lawrence, KS. He backed his high average accomplishments with an average of 230 in the 1995-96 bowling season, he has a YABA national title, Greater Ozarks Champion, Lawrence Bowling Association n City Tournament Champion in scratch All events and doubles champion.

Robert competed on the collegiate level at Baker University and the University of Kansas from 1976-78. Many of his plaques were on display at the Jaybowl, located on the KU campus. After graduation, he coached the KU team from 1980-81. His dedication to the game, his donations of bowling equipment to his college bowler, and his donation of used equipment to the bowling classed at KU, have earned the KU women's program respect in in the 1994-95 National Collegiate Championships, the women were there, with the help of Bob's advise, coaching and encouragement

For Robert, bowling is life and the game never gets old, His father always told him, "If you're going to do something, pick one thing and do it well." From this advise, Bob would get on his bike as a youngster, grab his bowling ball and bag and pedal his way to the bowling center every Saturday, to bowl youth leagues. He may not always win, but he always strives to be the very best bowler that he can be.

Dwane Martin

Wayne has bowled in the Abilene Bowling Association sine 1948. He has also been a member of the Salina, Junction City ad Manhattan Bowling Associations. He is married, with five children, eight grand children and on great grand child.

He has service as a League Secretary for over 20 years, while participating in the Abilene Bowling Association. He has also had the charge of the operations of the Abilene City Bowling tournament

Wayne has participated in many tournaments, such as the Kansas State Bowling Tournament, the Kansas State Senior Tournament, the Kansas State Elks and the Midwest Elks tournament and ABC National Tournament. His best and biggest highlight came in 1985 where he won the Doubles Event in the "Grater Ozarks Open Boling Tournament

Lowell Newell, Jr.

Loyall was born in 1925 in Clay Center. He served our country in the armed services from 1943-46. He married in 1947 and has three grown children. He obtained his introduction to bowling in 1939 where he set pins in the bowling alley below the "Idle Hour Pool hall". In 1947 he became the manager of the bowling alley "Idle Hour Pool Hall" and bought the business in 1953. He built the Clay Center Bowl in 1967, where his wife Darlyene helped him run the business for three years. He is still a part owner of Clay Center Bowl and carries a 17 average.

Loyall became a member of the American Legion in 1946, and has competed in 50 straight American Legion Bowling Tournaments. In 1996 he was honored with a gold bowling ball by the American Legion, for his 50the year of competition. He is the only current member of the American Legion to bowl in every America Legion Tournament.

He has also competed in the Elks. VFW, Kansas Seniors and KSBA Tournaments. In 1960 he assembled four teams to compete in the ABC National Bowling Tournament in Des Moines, IA. On the local level he still continues to compete in the Clay Center City tournament.

His bowling center is offered to the High Scholl Physical Education program, free of charge. His is very interested in youth, and getting them involved in bowling. Once a c week, the youth in his Church are allowed one evening to bowl free. The youth today are our future in this game. His contributions at all levels of bowling are greatly appreciated and we thank him for his many hours of dedication to help make bowling popular in Clay Center.
