1992 Hall of Fame Inductees
Ralph Davies
Ralph has been very active in the Manhattan Bowling Association and the Kansas Elks Bowling Association for over 40 years. He has been Secretary & Treasurer for the Manhattan Blowing Association since 1977 and was an assistant for many years before that. Since 1956 Ralph has bowled and been Secretary in many leagues. He has bowled in the Kansas State Tournament since 1953 and bowled 16 straight ABC Tournaments. He has been very active in the Elks Tournaments since 1964 and the American Legion Tournaments since 1958. He ahs been a great promoter for the game of bowling and is always willing to help with a tournament including the Kansas State Men's Tournament.
Mark Jensen
Mark has been a part of bowling for most of his life. he has won many Wichita City Tournaments, has been Wichita Men's Bowler of the Year, Eagle/Beacon Bowler of the Year, and service on the Board of Directors of the Wichita Men's Bowling Association. Mark also was an ABC National Doubles Champion with Mark Lewis in 1988 and a member of the Chilton Vending team that won the ABC National Team Championship in 1989. mark has traveled extensively for bowling including Wiesbaden, West Germany on the Team USA in the Friendship games, the first United States Male Representative at the Olympics in the sport of bowling in Seoul, Korea and the male representative at the AMC World Cup in Guadalajara, Mexico. He has been a great representative for the game of bowling and the State of Kansas. Mike Lucas states that Mark has absolutely the best bowling history in the State of Kansas and has been rewarded by being selected as the new ABC Director for the State of Kansas.
Howard Hargrove
Howard has been a member of the Lawrence Bowling Association since 1949 in which he has become a lifetime member. He is also in the Lawrence Men's Bowling Hall of Fame. For many years Howard not only was Secretary for 5 different leagues, but bowled in 7. He has bowled in 24 Kansas State Bowling Association Tournaments and 33 Lawrence City Tournaments. He was Y.A.B.A. instructor for 23 years in Lawrence. Howard i not able to bowl as often now, but he still visits the bowling center almost every day just to stay in touch with the game of bowling and with people who he ahs met through the years.
Mike Lucas
Mike has been bowling for 40 years. He has won many Wy-Jon, Kansas State, Kansas City, Mo., and Missouri State Titles. He was a member of the S & H Bowling Supply team that finished 6th in the ABC Tournament in Baltimore in 1982, and the same team posted a score of 3683 which is one of the highest team and directing several tournaments both in Kansas and Missouri. He and his father John, are the first Father and Son inductees in both the Wy-Jon and the Kansas City, Mo. Hall of fames. He has spent several years working with the Y.A.B.A. not only with his won children, but with many others. In 1963 while bowling on the P.B.A. tour Mike was member of the first P.B.A. image committee which basically decided what the image of a professional bowler should be. Throughout Mike's man illnesses , he has never lost his love, desire or drive to be a part of bowling in some way.
